Barbara

Bio: Barbara (they/he/she) has been LARPing with Refuge Portland since 2009 - when it was still a part of its prior organization. They have both PC'd and NPC'd for years, and are currently absolutely enamoured with heading up plot for the Palla campaign. They are pretty sure there's nothing they like better than telling stories with other players - except maybe their spouse and child. Barbara has also served in other roles within both the Refuge and other local LARPs, like Logistics and NPC chef, and has been low-key obsessed with LARPing since they started playing. While they are new to being an owner, they think that their experience with the game and their incredible staff and player base will help give them the guideance needed to be successful in the role. Given the trials of the pandemic, Barbara is ecstatic to get back to LARPing regularly - although they enjoyed the online events that were run as well - and can't wait to resume the hobby that has been their passion for so long.

Bio: Brian is a fun and exciting person (although I'm biased, being his wife). He has been larping with Refuge Portland for over a decade, and loves this game with a passion. Although he doesn't get to attend as many games lately as he would like (there's a really cute baby involved in that choice), he does love hearing all the stories and helping out behind the scenes.

Rick

Bio: Rick is a barely functional adult who's favorite color is blue, while their favorite type of humor is the self-deprecating kind. He's been LARPing for a decade now, which continues to blow his mind every time he consciously thinks about it. He loves how player agency can mold a game world and doesn't mind working up a sweat in combat. He also firmly believes that new players are the lifeblood of our organization and will go out of his way to help them both in- and out-of-game.

Nas

Bio: Nas is fairly new to our organization, but has already made waves with his dedication, focus, and character-centric story-telling. He's a true delight to NPC with, and has a focused and orderly approach to our game, which makes him an ideal Assistant GM.

Corin

Positions: Head of Rules, Rules Marshal, Chairperson of the National Refuge Organization

Bio: Corin has been larping since early 2016 and can sometimes be specific to a fault, which is almost certainly how they ended up in both Logistics and Rules positions. They greatly value the Refuge Portland Larp community for giving them the space to grow and actualize themself, as well as the ways in which the Larping creates unexpected and deeply personal experiences you couldn't find anywhere else.

Sherry

Bio: Sherry is a long-time member of the RPG gaming community who re-added LARPing to that hobby 5 years ago. In addition to playing Refuge, she participates in a regular TTRPG gaming group as both GM and player and is a board member of a Gaming Convention. When she isn’t gaming, she enjoys sewing and being generally crafty. Her penchant for being organized, planning, and details has led her to taking on the role of logistics.

Halie

Bio: Halie has been playing our game for a while, and is newly appointed to Logistics. She is a delight to RP with and has an uncanny ability to get her characters to befriend people who probably shouldn't be befriended. We can't wait to see what she brings to the logistics team!

Brian H

Bio: Brian has been with Refuge for many years. His primary character has been friends to almost everyone in town at some point or another, and he is friendly with nearly everyone out of character, too! He has extensive knowledge of the game from a player's perspective, and has helped out with BroS plot too. He has an expansive depth of story to draw from, and we're excited to see what Thevran brings to the game world.

Theo

Bio: Theo is a delightful human with an amazing talent for storytelling. They are skilled at weaving intricate stories and pulling people into them. They have a strong affinity for mushrooms, too.

Amber

Bio: Our final new member of plot, Amber has been really fun to work with so far. She has a delightful attention to detail, and has been playing in our NPC camp for years! She's becoming quite the fighter, and seems to thrive in combat situations. We can't wait to see what else she brings to the table as our game evolves!

Kelsey

Bio: Kelsey was our baby plot member for a while, but has since graduated, as we have brought on three new plot members! Kelsey is dedicated and focused, with a strong eye towards details, and a sense for making sure every aspect of the stories we tell are consistent with each other. We are so glad to have her on our team.

Aria

Bio: Aria is a new plot member with the Palla plot. They have been NPCing for a little while and expressed interest in learning the ropes shortly after joining our NPC camp. They have been a delight to work with so far - thoughtful, considerate and very creative. Can't wait to see more from them!

Bio: Devan is our second new member on the Palla plot team. Devan has been a delight to work with, demonstrating a quick aptitude for character and drama, which we love as a plot team! We are really looking forward to see what Devan comes up with next!

Brett

Bio: Brett is a master of games. Having been with Refuge for a while, and currently on Staff with the Seattle Chapter, too, Brett has made time to join the Thevran plot and tell some unique and fun stories with the Portland Chapter. Brett has a unique view of how to improve systems, and his perspectives on stories are always fun to discuss. We can't wait to see what Brett reveals of himself in the Thevran world.

Bio: Jen is a newer member of the Refuge community, but has already shown herself to be a skilled storyteller and role player. She brings a unique perspective with her character, and is always willing to draw others into stories that she's involved in. Jen is a natural leader within the game, and we can't wait to see what world she helps create with Thevran.

Paul

Bio: Paul has been playing Refuge for almost forever! He has served on plot before - working with Barbara and Beyleth on seasons of Aer'Astria that were huge successes. He's back for more fun and creativity on the Thevran team. Paul has an incredible ability to create characters that have deep ties with the players, and motivate them to care about the world. We can't wait to see how he brings this to bear in Thevran!

Bio: Erik has been playing in Refuge for a while, and knows the ins and outs of the game really well. He's contributed as both and NPC and a PC, and knows how to tell compelling stories. Plot always looks forward to his downtimes to see what crazy shenanigans he'll be up to next! We can't wait to see how his shenanigan tendancies are brought to bear in the Thevran plot team.
