| Market Days - Weekend Event - October 14-16, 2011 - Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall |
| A full year has passed since Lord Gyr came aboard the Emerald Rose across the seas from Taneryn with a ragtag band of adventurers and farmers and made Landfall, a shining jewel of resistance against the necromancer Harkonnian slavers. Through trial and tribulation, they've stood strong and served as a source of freedom and security for all passersby. Lord Gyr would like to invite all free peoples to join the community of Landfall in a weekend of celebration! In conjunction with this holiday, the Caravan of Wonders will hold an auction of rare, curious, and/or powerful items! Come, rejoice and celebrate in this acknowledgement of the works and efforts of a community of people who have built a home for themselves and for you! |
| A Hard Winter's Night - Weekend Event - December 9-11, 2011 - Brooks Memorial ELC - Landfall |
| The cold of winter's embrace has finally set in - cold, harsh, unyielding. And now, as night falls, something lurks in the shadows. Something is not quite right here... something needs to be solved. Join us as more of the history of the Golden Horn is revealed, presenting new exciting opportunities and challenges for the future. |
| Shadows of Tynera - Game Day - February 11 - (OOG location TBD) |
| At Lord Gyr's behest, members of the adventuring community travel to the region north of Boca Dracon, where the township of Tynera is thought to have existed, and the reptilian Squamata are thought to have made their home. There is a need for new allies, and recent events (past events?) have provided a possible in-roads with the green-scaled people that dwell between Landfall and the northern Kingdom of the Chakar. | The Green Mile - March 2-4, Camp Kiwanilong, Warrenton OR - TBA |
| TBA | Blood, Sweat and Fears - 3-day weekend event - May 4-7 - Camp Shepphard, Enumclaw WA |
| Description Forthcoming. |
In order to create more of a sense of the world in which Alliance Oregon is set in, we use a series of parks and campsites as a series of different in-game locations. The name and location of the site each event will be held at will be announced on the board at least a month before the event (typically as soon as we reserve the site). We have 5 that we have used in the past and/or intend to use in the future:
Brook's Memorial ELC
Brook's Memorial ELC is located 13 miles north of Goldendale, WA in the Simcoe Mountains in Klickitat County, the site has a main lodge with a fully equipped kitchen, there are two bathroom and shower buildings, and 7 cabins that sleep up to 10 people, three A-frames that are usually used by staff and plot and the other 4 are for PC use. All the buildings are heated and the cabins have mattresses on the bunks. A good portion of the ELC site is forested and there is quite a bit of shrubbery down by the creek area, which also has some beaver damns. Since the site is located in a high desert area it can get very cold here. For more information and directions, visit here.
Silver Falls Ranches
The Silver Falls Ranches are two large two-story buildings with a large contained fire pit inside as the only form of heating. Plywood bunks line the second floor (padding not provided), and each ranch has a bare bones kitchen (dishes and utensils not provided), bathrooms, the fire pit, and several picnic benches. There is a large surrounding area of varied terrain, and there is a barbecue outside that for safety reasons will be covered with a white sheet when not in use. This site, while in the same park, is a completely different entity from the Silver Falls Youth Camp. For further site information, visit here, and for current weather conditions and forecast visit here.
Silver Falls Youth Camp
The Youth Camp has a river running through it, is heavily forested, and contains a pond with a dock and swimming ladder (the pond is a dammed-up part of the river). The cabins have no electricity, heat, or bedding, though they do have from 2-4 bunks per cabin. This site also has no padding and no dishes or utensils. It is strongly suggested that everyone bring and carry with them a light source (flashlight, glow stick, whatever you prefer) for the night, because there are no lights in the majority of the camp, and fighting in pitch black forested areas is unsafe. For further information, see the sites listed for Silver Falls Ranches above.
Scouter's Mountain/Cub World
This site consists of a two-story fort with two rooms on each corner (one top level, one ground level), each room containing 8 bunks. A ways off in the trees is a campsite made up of 6 teepees, which is monster/NPC camp. There is no electricity or heating in the fort or teepees, but a short walk up the hill to the main hall brings you to a bathroom with showers. There is running water in both the teepee area and the fort. The fort opens on two ends (it is rectangular shaped). There are several hiking trails that go up into the woods. The teepees are generally reserved for Monster Camp and NPC use. For further site information, visit here, and for driving directions visit here.
